In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Congalala is a notorious, neon ape known for summoning its kin to hassle players, especially in the Forest. Here's how to effectively handle this stinky foe.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Find and Beat Congalala

Locating Congalala in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Congalala is the fourth monster encountered in the campaign. To continue exploring the Forest and maintain Pop Up Camps, players must defeat this troublesome creature for the Wudwuds.

Congalala and its smaller Conga minions are always found in the Forest, appearing in any season, typically during the day. If it is not immediately available, the Optional Quest "Tussle in Pink" provides a quick engagement. It can also be found in the Wounded Hollow as the game progresses.

Strategies for Defeating Congalala

Prepare to deal with the Congalala's infamous Stench special attack, which can affect you even with perfect dodges. Additionally, it may inflict Poison, Paralysis, and Blastblight, so carrying Deodorant, Nulberries, and Antidotes is essential.

The Congalala employs Minor Tremor attacks to disrupt combos, belches, swats with its arms, and jumps, often assisted by its baby Congas. Target its breakable head and forelegs, while avoiding its burps. Attacking the tail and rear, though weak points, exposes you to its farts.

Congalala is vulnerable to Fire and Ice elements, making Quematrice weapons effective. It is also susceptible to Blastblight, Exhaust, Sleep, Stun, Paralysis, and Poison. Utilize Flash Pods, Shock Traps, and Pitfall Traps to your advantage.

Congalala Drops

Defeating Congalala guarantees a Congalala Certificate. Common drops include Congalala Claws and Pelts, obtainable from breaking forearms and tail. Vibrant Pelt is rarer and typically acquired by breaking the head. Congalala Fang is the most challenging drop, often obtained by carving the carcass.

Crafting Conga Greaves and Coil requires the Congalala Fang. Vibrant Pelt is needed for the Conga Mail, Vambraces, and Helm. Conga Vambraces also require Machalite Ore from Forest mining spots.
