The scripted encounter with Guardian Ebony Odogaron occurs during Chapter 3, shortly after establishing camp. While this battle is not the most challenging, its presence in Wyveria is persistent, prowling spiral paths between layers and occasionally resting on certain levels, irrespective of time or season.

To engage Guardian Ebony Odogaron promptly, visit Alma at the Quest Counter and select the quest "Red Eyes in the Night." This quest immediately pits you against the monster. It is noteworthy that this variant exists without a standard version or basic Odogaron in the game.

Strategies for Defeating Guardian Ebony Odogaron

Guardian Ebony Odogaron retains the agility and quickness characteristic of its predecessors, likened to battling a large squirrel. It employs rapid dashes, bites, and swipes before retreating. As a Guardian variant, it also harnesses Wylk to generate spikes, which can be detonated to create AOE attacks. Its Weak Roar disrupts combos, and it can inflict both Bleeding and Dragonblight.

Strategically, attacking from underneath or behind proves effective, particularly targeting its tail and legs, which are susceptible to damage. Severing its tail yields Guardian Ebony Tail pieces. As its health diminishes, its frequency of attacks and evasive maneuvers reduce. All weapon types are effective, with certain parts vulnerable to Water damage.
