Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Find and Beat Hirabami

Locating Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds

Hirabami exclusively inhabits the Cliffs region, where it is as common as Rompopolo in the Basin. An encounter can be triggered via the "Fight or Flight" Optional Quest, available after defeating it during Chapter 2 of the campaign.

Strategies for Defeating Hirabami

Defeating Hirabami entails two distinct approaches: the initial campaign encounter and subsequent battles. The first encounter involves facing three agile Hirabamis simultaneously. Equipped with a Dung Pod is essential as it helps manage the presence of multiple Hirabamis.

Once isolated, Hirabami's weaknesses can be effectively exploited. Although all weapons are viable, blunt weapons like hammers are particularly effective against its head fins. Fire and Thunder element weapons are advantageous, and it is vulnerable to Poison and Sleep status effects.

Targeting the tail is crucial due to Hirabami's Frostblight attack, which can freeze and halt you momentarily. Its Weak Roar also stuns momentarily. Severing the tail yields Hirabami Tail Claws, and breaking the head provides Hirabami Webbing.

For optional encounters, the strategy remains consistent, although managing multiple Hirabamis is less of a concern. However, a second Hirabami may occasionally appear in the same vicinity.

Hirabami Drops

Obtaining the rare Frost Sac is a priority for crafting Ice-based weaponry. Defeating Hirabami guarantees a Hirabami Certificate, with Hirabami Tail Claws, Scales, and Hides being common drops. Hirabami Webbing is acquired by breaking the head.

Crafting Hirabami equipment, particularly the Hirabami Greaves, is challenging due to the need for rare items such as the certificate, two scales, webbing, and a Frozen Icebone from Cliffs' bonepile gathering points. The Hirabami Headdress also requires the Frost Sac, webbing, and tail claw.
