In Monster Hunter Wilds, the first encounter in the Iceshard Cliffs is with the returning monster Nerscylla. This foe introduces players to the Sleep status effect and the immobilizing Webbed condition, while its hatchlings are a valuable source of Monster Fluid.

Locating Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds

Nerscylla is the initial encounter in the Cliffs region and, while occasionally found in the Basin, primarily resides in the Cliffs. Once this area is unlocked, it can also appear in Wounded Hollow. To immediately encounter Nerscylla, visit the Quest Counter and select the "Dance of Shadows" Optional Quest.

Strategies for Defeating Nerscylla

Nerscylla, like other spider monsters such as Lala Barina, is highly agile and employs a combination of stinger strikes, pincers, and claws. A common tactic involves shooting webbing to immobilize opponents, followed by attempts to poison or induce sleep before closing in for attacks.

Unlike Lala Barina, Nerscylla often swings using its silk, both for movement and attacks. In its spider-web nest area within the Cliffs, Nerscylla can disappear under the webbing and launch surprise attacks from below. This area also houses numerous Nerscylla Hatchlings, which, in large numbers, can collectively deal significant incremental damage.

To effectively combat Nerscylla, avoid its webbing and capitalize on openings after it swings. Target its forelegs and stinger to mitigate poison and sleep attacks. While all weapons are effective, blunt weapons are particularly advantageous against its weak head area.

Nerscylla Drops

Defeating Nerscylla guarantees a Nerscylla Certificate. The Nerscylla Spike, obtained by breaking the stinger, is relatively rare, as are the Nerscylla Chelicera and Sleep Sacs. Common drops include Nerscylla Claw and Rubbery Hide.

Crafting the Nerscylla Helm is the most challenging, requiring a Nerscylla Certificate, Nerscylla Chelicera, Rubbery Hide, and Sleep Sac. The Nerscylla Greaves and Nerscylla Coil also require Nerscylla Chelicera parts.
