How to Get Boar Bone and Boar Hide in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered 

Both Boar Bone and Boar Hide are obtained by killing Boars. Boar Bone is an Uncommon item, while Boar Hide is Rare, meaning it has a considerably lower drop rate than Boar Bone. You'll likely need to kill a lot of boars to gather enough of both items to craft and trade.

Fortunately, the world of Horizon Zero Dawn has its fair share of boars, many of which you'll encounter throughout the game. To breed them, simply head to the location marked above - this wooded area is crawling with boars. So get out your bow and arrow and get to work, thinning out the boar population.

Why Boar Bone and Boar Hide Are Needed in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered 

Boar Bone 

In your playthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn, you'll need three boar bones - one to craft the Hunter's Bow Sling Pouch Upgrade 2, and two for its Resource Pouch Upgrade 3. Although the game suggests that boar bones can be used to trade with merchants, this is not the case. However, you can sell any extra boar bones to merchants for 25 metal shards each.

Boar Hide Boar Hide is needed much more often than boar bones. In total, you'll need four boar hides in a standard game, or five if you're playing on Ultra difficulty.

Each of the following upgrades has a boar skin: 

• Hunter's Bow Quiver Upgrade 3 
• Resource Pouch Upgrade 4 
• Projectile Launcher Ammo Pouch Upgrade 4 

Additionally, two boar skins are required to craft the Shadow Claw in Ultra Hard mode. For players starting a New+ game, five more boar skins are required to obtain the Stormcaster Expert, ten in Ultra Hard difficulty mode.
