How to Get Shell-Walker Heart in Horizon Zero Dawn

In Horizon: Zero Dawn, there are these Shell-Walkers-carrying crabs with a large container on their back full of precious materials. Then three or four Watchers move the cargo in some sort of convoy.

These convoys can be attacked by the player for a Shell-Walker Heart, which they can trade in for better equipment or sell. The following are the ways of getting a Shell-Walker Heart in Horizon: Zero Dawn, if interested.

In Horizon: Zero Dawn, there are primarily two ways to get the Shell-Walker Heart: by defeating Shell-Walkers or by purchasing them from a Specialist Merchant. Following is a look into two ways we will consider in detail:

Shell-Walker Hearts Can Be Purchased From Machine Resource Merchants

Horizon: Zero Dawn has Machine Resource Specialty Merchants where players can buy a Shell-Walker Heart. One is located in Meridian-specified on the map below.

If you fast-travel to Meridian, the Merchant there will have the Shell-Walker Heart in stock, and you can purchase it from him for 350 Metal Scraps.

Machine Resource Merchants really do charge different quantities based on the difficulty of Shell-Walker's Heart.

Rip Shell-Walkers Away for Their Hearts

In this map, you can notice some positions of Shell-Walker from where the players can attack the convoy. As Shell-Walker is in motion always, their above positions have changed from time to time unlike other machine positions. How to get a Shell-Walker Heart by intercepting a Shell-Walker convoy in Horizon: Zero Dawn:.

They will need to kill several Shell-Walker Hearts before they can successfully get one in the machine. The positive thing, though, is that a player has a better chance of stealing a heart off a Shell-Walker because a convoy usually spawns several of them.

Kill the Watchers around the Shell-Walkers guarding the convoy first.

Begin defeating a Shell-Walker by first tearing its cargo free from their backs using Tearblast Arrows.

Defeat a Shell-Walker now by hitting its weak points. Strike the machine with a Critical Strike, and this will increase the chances of its dropping a Shell-Walker Heart.

You will have to steal its parts from the Shell-Walkers and the cargo area if you want to get a chance at attaining a Shell-Walker Heart.

If no Shell-Walker Heart was obtained from this killed convoy, then search for another moving dot on the map and repeat the process.

Once obtained, players can either sell their acquired Shell-Walker Hearts to merchants at a decent price or exchange them in the following items:

Miniature Ancient Rusty Basket

Prowler Armor Nora

Nora's Protector Adept Armor (NG+ only)

Ropecaster Master (Only NG+)
