The Crystal Rod is hard to find if you don't know exactly where to look, and it's not something you can just buy at any shop either. You'll be able to find the Crystal Eternity here.
Where to find the Crystal Train in HZD Remastered?
In Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered, the best way to farm the Crystal Weave is by defeating and collecting Thunderjaws, Stormbirds, Behemoths, and Rockbreakers. While you can usually only fight Deathbringers during the main story moments, you can always steal from them. You'll need to be prepared before facing these enemies, as they're some of the toughest in the game. Here are some suggestions:
- Use your attention to recognize the weak aspects of the machinery and supplement them with Tear damage.
- Use the freeze attack against them to your advantage so that your armor becomes vulnerable and takes more damage.
- Attack them with destructible weapons, such as throwing discs on Thunderjaws.
- Use the grappling hook to hit them and deal damage easily and safely.
- Equip your armor with the damage type each enemy uses.
- Make sure you don't get too close; try to kill them with long-range attacks.
- Rockbreaker Leap: Try to find a high place to fight them from, to avoid their attacks.
- Try to pull their feet towards the Rockbreakers so they don't fall any lower.
Even if you take down one of these machines, there's no real guarantee that you'll come out of it with Crystal Weave. It's an incredibly rare resource - it may take a lot more than you initially imagined to get what you need.
If any of the machines mentioned above are hard to find for you, be sure to check the map for where the machines are located. It will tell you which ones are and where to find and track them because of this. The Hunter's Lodge questline is just one example of how there are quests that require you to defeat Thunderjaws and Stormbirds. You can also find some Corrupted Rockbreakers near Cauldron ZETA, but be careful because this fight will be substantially harder.
Crystal Braiding is required to purchase the Oseram Arrow Breaker Heavy and Adept sets and the Shadow and Adept Sling. Adept are the armor versions obtained in a New Game Plus - both are the strongest tier of gear that can be unlocked.
Additionally, you can spend it to purchase the Hunter Big Game Box which includes some metal parts and the ability to store small, medium, and large machine nuts. You can even trade it to merchants in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for more shards, if you find yourself fighting enough large machines to have an overabundance of Crystal Braiding.
