Destiny 2 will tell you exactly how to brew these tonics, and you can choose which ones you'd like to use based on your playstyle and build. At this point, you'll also unlock Field Work with Eido to craft even more powerful tonics. The only catch is that you need to unlock a certain number of tonic recipes to get more field work quests, and the game doesn't tell you exactly how to do that.

How to Unlock Tonic Recipes in Destiny 2 

Fortunately, unlocking tonic recipes in Destiny 2 is a pretty simple process. Once you've completed a bit of the prologue and have access to the Tonic Lab, you can unlock new recipes by combining different tonics or creating the same tonic multiple times. As you experiment with different combinations, you'll unlock new recipes, thus unlocking more fieldwork quests to complete for Eido.

In other words, if you create some Protective Frost Tonics, you'll get a new recipe. There are a total of 45 recipes to unlock, so this will take some time, but the more fieldwork you do, the easier this process will become.

How to Create Tonics 

You can create tonics using the Tonic Table, which is right next to Eido in the Last City. You'll unlock this landing zone once you complete the first quest of the new season. To create a tonic, you need to follow these steps:

•  Interact with the Tonic Table.
• Select the tonics you want to create.
• Walk to the nearest shelf with materials and grab some.
• Interact with the tonic tester behind Eido. You'll need to do this twice.
• Activate the broken tank to spawn your tonics.

Each tonic needs a certain amount of resources that you can get from Revenant activities in order to craft them. You can check exactly what materials you need by hovering over the tonic you want to craft. If you want to know where to get specific resources, you can also do this by looking at the tonic capsule and inspecting the reagent bar at the bottom.

There is no set drop rate for reagents from enemies, but the easiest way to get them is to run the new seasonal activity a few times. This will ensure the ability to at least craft some of the initial tonics. As the season progresses and more activities are unlocked, you'll be able to obtain rarer reagents to get stronger tonics.

There are two types of tonics: Volatiles and Enrichers. Volatile Tonics will be more combat-focused and enhance the perks of your Destiny 2 Artifacts, while Enriching Tonics will alter how loot is acquired and adjust rewards for activities in general to your specifications. You can only have one of each active at a time, and you can consume them via the Tonic Capsule.
