How to get the Alethonym Catalyst in Destiny 2

Alethonym Catalyst introduced a new ability for the rare Exotic grenade launcher based on stasis, during Act Two of Revenant. While this can increase damage, it isn't as spectacular as other Exotic catalysts, such as Huckleberry's Kinetic Tremors-which was added into Revenant.

The catalyst's just another ready-to-slot benefit, so those hoping for a Stasis synergy might be let down. The fact that the damage boost is so easy to activate makes it hard to find fault with.

Starting with Act Two of Revenant, this is how you unlock the Alethonym Catalyst in Destiny 2. It does what it says it will do.

And of course, the Alethonym ornament is yours when you get to the catalyst as well.

When you level up to 145 in the Revenant season pass, you'll unlock the Alethonym Catalyst. While catalysts have been time-gated up until now, meaning that ranks 100–150 are not accessible until the start of Act Two. With the new act, there's a pretty good opportunity to claim any unredeemed seasonal challenges for going to rank 145 as quick as possible. Of course, there is a good reason to pursue those tasks since they will provide a decent amount of experience and Bright Dust.

This powerful artifact isn't lost forever if you don't manage to get the Alethonym Catalyst in Revenant. The current season pass Exotic weapon catalyst, and eligible catalysts of past episodes of the season pass, are rewarded at rank 145. If you're late to the party, you won't miss out because Episode: Heresy could have the same functionality.

Where does Destiny 2's Alethonym Catalyst fit in?

The Alethonym Catalyst gives the Stasis-based grenade launcher the perk One For All. Given how unique Alethonym is, this perk is no very impressive but does little to affect its damage output significantly. When you hit three adversaries at once, One For All increases your damage by a substantial amount. The newly added characteristic of Alethonym ensures decent uptime thanks to its large area of impact, endless ammo, and steady damage output.

Although the details of the reward were not disclosed, the Onslaught: Salvation grenade launcher was shown in the Revenant Act One webcast. Watching on-screen buffs, we notice that Alethonym had One For All. We considered this would be part of the catalyst since it was not present in the weapon.

The bonus selection didn't go over well with fans, though: users panned Alethonym's catalyst on social media, asking for a replacement.

Considering Chill Clip is a Stasis weapon, it was no surprise to many that wanted to get a hold of it, and some even hoped that it would have additional Stasis effects. You will noticeably increase your damage output with One For All. Turn on Alethonym's catalyst anytime if you're having fun with it.
