One Soldier Too Many Quest in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

First things first, players of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom need to complete the Hyrule Castle "dungeon" and town rift before the 'One Soldier Too Many' side quest can be undertaken. When Hyrule Castle Town is back in its former glory, you'll notice two guards at the southern entrance/exit. The 'One Soldier Too Many' quest begins by speaking with the individual with the red bubble above them. Learn how it all works and what the payoff is with this tutorial.

The Echoes of Wisdom Guide to One Too Many Soldiers

You turn to the guard and learn his name is Beecher, and General Wright has saddled him with a nonsensical job of trying to track down the single surviving guard from the rift. They suspect there's an unauthorized Echo hanging around, and Zelda will have to do some sleuth work to figure this out.

First off, go to the guard standing on the bridge just over the well looking towards the barracks. He will be your contact. To get to him, we used a couple of water block echoes.

This soldier tells Zelda to check the barracks for her missing equipment because all the guards have their gear kept there.

Head into the barracks and speak with the guard here to initiate a short scene. Apparently, some of the town's men have faulty equipment, and, well, you know who the fake is. That's about it, really. On the plus side, the forgery is pretty noticeable.

Head towards the guard guarding the well and speak with him. If you peer closely, the spearhead is missing.

To determine who the false guard is, revisit the barracks to answer Beecher's questions.

First thing we know: what is the location of suspicious soldier? Yeah, it's near the well.

Question 2: Which machine was damaged? The correct answer is Lance.

The Echoes of Wisdom Quest Reward - A Surplus of Soldiers

General Wright will reward you with a Golden Egg after the scene. You can use Golden Eggs within your smoothie concoctions, where they have a great healing effect, or sell them with the merchants for Rupees.
