Your mission of finding the missing Vaeric starts in a bar called Herald's Rest, which is located in the capital city of Dazra. In this little bar, there are only three named NPCs, all of which you need to interact with. If you have a high persuasion build upon entering this area, you can easily persuade all three to say a little something about Vaeric. You'll be allowed to simply reveal his location if you act out this behavior.

Having said that, if you are not very good at persuasion, you should simply try to talk with all three of them. The very next non-player character Tane will come along following this. Paying Tane a sum of one thousand credits is what it will take in order to get Vaeric's location using this route. Using the tracker this way is what you want to do at this time in the game.
