There are two different paths to completing this quest, one offered by Razma Ka'dic, the House Matriarch, and one by Djimal Ka'dic, the House Mediator. Razma desires for Zealous Overreach is to save the hostages and re-enforce her control over her fanatic group, the Va'ruun. But her sister, Djimal Ka'dic, the House Mediator, has other plans. She wants House Ka'dic to completely end its association with the Va'ruun fanatics, and says the only way this will happen is if the hostages are killed and Razma is forced to give up her plans. Djimal frames her request as an unfortunate outcome for the greater good. Whether or not you agree with their reasoning, you can take 10,000 credits from them in exchange for your promise to kill Sahima if you find her.

Killing Sahima

Sahima puts up a good fight, though she's not as difficult to kill as many other enemies in the dungeon. Once she's dead, she needs to be looted to obtain Sahima's password and her research.

Killing the Hostages

It's not just Sahima that needs to die to complete this objective, though. All of the hostages (and the Va'ruun Zealot) inside Shadow Station Epsilon need to be killed. So, once you find Sahima and your companion, you need to make your way through the rest of the dungeon killing all of the hostages and hostiles. Once you've done that, the main objectives of this quest are complete.

Negotiations for Sahima's

Death After Sahima's death, negotiations with the Va'ruun Zealots fail. Razma is angry and upset at how the quest played out and blames the zealots, ending their deal like Djimal wanted all along. The player can make Persuasion checks to try and avoid a fight, or can simply kill the Va'ruun zealots. Djimal will reward the player and continue with the quest.

Rescuing Sahima in Zealous Overreach

To rescue Sahima, players simply need to progress through the quest to the point where it is possible to talk to her about their plans. Once she is rescued, she becomes essential, meaning she cannot be killed after that point and the player is forced to save her. Sahima will help the player with her technical knowledge, but will hold off on her research until later on.

Rescuing the Hostages

Clearly, saving the remaining hostages is still necessary to complete the quest properly, but killing the zealots is not strictly necessary.

Negotiations after Sahima's rescue

If Sahima is rescued, the negotiations between the Va'ruun zealots take a considerably different turn. First, Sahima arrives during negotiations and threatens them with the destruction of their base via her viruses and technical expertise. Depending on the player's choice, this can be used to avoid a fight during this part of the mission. Once the situation is defused, Razma will ask the player not to tell the High Council of House Va'ruun anything that has happened. The player can agree to do this for a variety of interpretational reasons, or instead extort Razma for 15,000 credits. Sahima will then request the player's presence at House Ka'dic, where she is available as a companion and part of the player's crew.

How to recruit Sahima in Starfield

Sahima will return to House Ka'dic after this mission. The player will have the opportunity to invite her to join their crew and ship upon finding her, and can assign her a free slot on a ship or outpost.
