Not every character can transform or fuse, though; even if you can, knowing how to do so is tricky if you haven't gone through the training options or skipped a tutorial in the story. So, we're going to show you what you need to do to get the most out of the feature.

Fusing and transforming may not seem important most of the time. After all, you can choose an already fused or transformed character at the character selection screen. But if you're trying to take some DP off your team overall, it's one way to avoid having a higher DP character in your squad by transforming or fusing them in the middle of the fight.

How to Turn Into Anything in Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO

 Saiyans aren't the only ones who can transform in Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO. Characters like Frieza and Cooler, most of the movie villains, and other characters like Jiren and Toppo have additional forms within the game.

You can see if a character can transform by selecting them in the character selection screen. Above their technical information, at the bottom right of the HUD, you should see all the available transformations that characters can use. Some may have one, while others, like Vegeta and Goku, may have several.

As long as a character has a Transformation option when they enter a battle, you'll need to start increasing your Skill Counter by a couple of levels, either by fighting or taking hits. After a while, you should have enough Skill Counter points to Transform. You need about one or two for something like a Super Saiyan, but you might need even more than that to get to Super Saiyan Blue.

You can check if you have enough points to Transform into something by looking under the fighter's head next to the Skill Counter bar. Below your character, a flashing blue arrow pointing up appears if you have enough points to Transform.

Now that you can transform, you're supposed to have held down the controller's D-Pad to bring up a submenu showing all the different ways you can transform. If you have a lot, you can flip through the pages by pressing L1/R1 or LB/RB. Press the corresponding button associated with the Transformation you want to transform into and your character should transform on the spot.

You'd then stay in that Transformation for the rest of the fight.

How to Fuse Characters in Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO 

Fusion works similarly to Transformation, but you need multiple characters instead of just one.

On the character selection screen, when you form a team, you have to choose characters with Fusions that you can use in the game. These are pairs like Goku and Vegeta, Trunks and Goten, Goku Black and Zamasu, etc. That's where things get tricky. Not all versions of Goku and Vegeta, for example, can fuse. You need to find the correct versions of both characters for fusion to be an option, like Goku and Vegeta from the end of Z, instead of their initial forms.

You need to build up the ability meter again and, just like with transformations, hold down the D-Pad. You'll have a list of transformations and fusions to choose from. You'll need to press R1/L1 or LB/RB on your controller to cycle through Fusions instead of Transformations and choose the one you want.
