The Super Saiyan in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is one of the transformations you can unlock in the title. If you're a hardcore fan of the series, then you know how iconic the Super Saiyan transformation was the moment it first happened in the Frieze arc during Dragon Ball Z. After months and months of waiting and an insufferable amount of fillers, Goku finally gained enough power to unlock Super Saiyan and defeat the space tyrant.
You'll also be able to use character transformations in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. How you transform really depends on the mode you're playing in. During Story Mode, you witness Goku and the other characters fight before unlocking their abilities, while in Multiplayer Mode you can transform at will.
In this article, we're going to discuss in more depth the Super Saiyan and other transformations that are available in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
Super Saiyan and Others, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Explained:
Transformation During Episode Battles - Story Mode
During episode battles that are story-driven, transformations are part of the story proceedings and only occur if certain events in the story occur. You cannot actually trigger transformations in this mode.
For example, in the fight with Majin Buu, Goku starts the fight in base form. As one progresses through the battle and damages Buu, Goku automatically turns into Super Saiyan 1, then SSJ2 and SSJ3 as the fight continues. Also, fusions, whether with Gotenks or Vegito, occur automatically when the story requires it, not as a result of player input.
Switching to Multiplayer and Other Modes In multiplayer or non-story-driven gameplay, the switching process works differently. Here, you are in control when and how you want to switch, but, again, this requires the right character and enough skill points.
Steps to change in multiplayer mode:
Choose a character that can transform: Here, select from the list of characters one that has the ability to transform.
Earn skill points. To start a transformation, one has to earn skill points, where the number of points needed depends on the power level of the transformation. Smaller transformations, such as starting with Super Saiyan 1, may use only 1 skill point, but some of the more advanced transformations may need up to 3 skill points; for example, Super Saiyan Blue.
Begin the transformation: Upon acquiring an adequate amount of skill points, a blue upward arrow will appear next to your portrait. This tells you that it is time to transform. Once this happens, do the following:
- Hold Up on the D-pad to reveal the transformation menu.
- Press R3/RS (right analog stick) to activate the Transformation submenu.
- Move the right stick towards the form you want to transform into and voila, the transformation will take effect.
By playing as Goku with 3 points earned, you can jump straight from base Goku to Super Saiyan Blue. By playing as Frieza, you will be able to progressively transform into each of his forms if you get enough skill points.
