If you are here it is because you want to know about How to defeat the Old Wizard's Eye in Throne and Liberty, so pay close attention.

On the 14th Floor of Taedal's Tower, you will find the Old Wizard's Eye in Throne and Liberty. In this solo boss challenge game, you'll be finding bosses with extraordinary powers that wait for you, like the Old Wizard, who looks like a Beholder. However hard this boss can be, we know the best approach to defeat the Old Wizard's Eye and proceed further into the tower.

How to Defeat the Old Wizard's Eye

You can bring down the Old Wizard's Eye with ease without special abilities. If you want to make this battle even easier, though, bring a mobility ability like Staff Smokescreen.

So, there's a small window of opportunity before Old Wizard's Eye does his first ability, so best to dump all your damage on him immediately upon the beginning of the combat. When you figure out which order he attacks in and how to respond to them, the fight becomes significantly more manageable due to how the entire encounter is scripted. Here are all powers of the Old Wizard's Eyes:

Fireball

Just like the autoattack of the Old Wizard's Eye. Sometimes he launches a single hit of a damaging Fireball on you. Blockable with your skill, he doesn't do much damage at all if you have literally any gear. Hit your defensive skill as soon as you see him rear up to throw the fireball; it will be off cooldown before he uses his next ability, so its a good bet if you realize the fireball is hitting you for a good chunk of health. Singular Slam

Singular Slam is a starting skill of the Old Wizard's Eye and causes a high amount of damage. This one is equipped with the purple telegraph circle to let you know when to use your defensive skill and block the assault. You should do this because in case you fail to, then the Old Wizard's Eye can slam the ground and provide substantial damage. After using Singular Slam twice times, his next ability will be activated.

Flame Patches

The scribble text bubble over Old Wizard's head, and the audio cues let you know that he is going to say aword that sounds demonic.

A red telegraphed circle is going to appear on the floor where you're character is standing momentarily thereafter. After a couple of seconds a Flame Patch is going to spawn there, and if you're still standing there, it's going to begin to tickle damage off of you. By the time he can get off three Flame Patches back to back, you can either continue through and have them all pop at once, or go through one, wait a sec, exit the second, wait a sec and exit the third. Triple Slam Right after you cast Flame Patches, The Old Wizard's Eye will begin slamming the earth once more.

This one is a little different compared to his Singular Slam.

You'll notice a wide red AOE circle in him that moves outward quickly; as it moves back around again, it makes you just want to jump. This happens too rapidly to block, and you leap over the damage barrage each slam was shooting out. Be prepared to jump through each of his three successive slam casts. Forward Slam Roughly five seconds after Triple Slam, the Old Wizard's Eye will do a second Single Slam that can be guarded, immediately followed by his powerful Forward Slam. Unless they are super tanky or are playing Sword and Shield, this skill will one-shot most of their opponents.

Unlike the Triple Slam, the Old Wizard's Eye's telegraph attack is frontal and can't be jumped.

What makes it such a hard thing to get away from is that he slows your character while you're in the frontal. If you want to take as little damage as possible, you'll need to quickly make your way to the side or the rear of the Old Wizard's Eye, where the attack won't telegraph. For getting behind the Old Wizard's Eye quickly, you can simply pop it to show your ability in movement. After the Forward Slam, the Old Wizard's Eye will continue to use each of these skills in the same pattern. If you are going quick enough, you should be able to kill him before he does another Forward Slam. And honestly, by the time he does the first Foreward Slam, if you have any sort of gear and a full damage spec, you can kill him. Now, already on Floor 15, Dren, the Stealer of Light, will fall into your hands after you beat the Old Wizard's Eye. Generally, this boss is somewhat easier, though it has some special abilities, too. Of course, the fights with him in the tower have not repeated the Old Wizard's eye, but his attacks were somewhat similar to Malakar, the World Boss from Throne and Liberty, so keep it in mind.
