The commercial highlights walmart's lowest prices
In 1994, the National Advertising Review Board launched Wal-Mart's slogan "Low Prices Forever." Always,” and claimed he might have misled some shoppers by implying that Walmart always had the lowest prices. In response, Walmart introduced a new slogan: “Always Low Prices. always. " Walmart customers have been able to find some of the best deals in Action Alley, the wide horizontal aisle that runs left and right through the store, closest to the checkout line. This is where mass production items (or VPIs) stack up, sometimes from floor to ceiling. Walmart executives will compete for the most profitable CPI, buy in bulk at the lowest price, and pass the savings on to customers. Bestsellers include antifreeze, toothpaste, laundry detergent, mattress covers, thermos bottles and many others, including Sam's favorite mooncakes.
The commercial is funny and relatable
The ad highlights the convenience of Walmart's pickup service, as it benefits many alien visitors, and features cameos from popular sci-fi TV shows and movies. For example, Buzz Lightyear in "Toy Story" appears in his spaceship, Bill S. Preston, Esq. Stories from "Bill and Ted's Wonderful Adventures" landed in his time-traveled phone booth. Other movies include Advent, Blade Runner, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lego Movie, Attacks on Mars, Men in Black, Star Trek, and Star Wars.
