VIDEO Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘Origin’, a 3-D video sculpture by Yiyun Kang TV commercial 2024 • Made of Makers: ‘Origin’, a 3-D video sculpture by Yiyun Kang | Jaeger-LeCoultre For her commissioned artwork by Jaeger-LeCoultre, Yiyun Kang decided to pay homage to the Golden Ratio, a formula particularly close to the story of the Reverso. Yiyun Kang spent some time at the Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux to gain a deeper understanding of the Maison’s home, its values and the process of watchmaking. This became the starting point for her exclusive 3-D video-sculpture named ‘Origin’. Presented in a very large three-dimensional screen that has been purpose-built for installation in public spaces, this artwork is a tribute to the ubiquity of the Golden ratio in the world around us. Through its narrative, it builds a parallel between the symmetry in nature and the geometry of Art Deco design.
