When we got to Chuck E Cheese they had the party room ready and ready to go. My son was so excited to see his name on the sign and the kids loved their Chuck E Cheese Collectible Cups and their Chuck E Cheese Party Favors - filled with treats, tickets, tokens and toys! For the past two years - as an adult in my early 30s - I've been celebrating my birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's. Yes, the hybrid entertainment and restaurant chain has an anthropomorphic pizza-loving mouse. "Do adults come here to celebrate their birthdays?" I asked the cashier when he called me to have BBQ chicken pizza on my last visit. "It's very rare," she said with a laugh. But for me, it's a reminder of how I formed my American identity.

These lyrics remained the same from 1994 to 2001. But in 2003, CEC released a new birthday song featuring original lyrics and the vocals of Patty Cake Baker's Man. In 2009, The Original Song returned, but in a shorter version. A Rockstar version was created to match the new Rockstar Chuck E, but the song changed dramatically in 2018. In 2018, the original song was changed to Time to Dance, strum the air guitar, rock your birthday star, raise your hand with Chuck E Cheese, move side to side and freeze. And "I love parties with Chuck E. Cheese!" was added as well. The most obvious change is the key of the song, which is now in B flat major, then D major, and finally E flat major. We arrived 15 minutes before the party started. The team was waiting for us with a smile on their face. The birthday party table is all set (see table set pictured below). There are balloons, paper plates, napkins, reusable lifetime cups, decorations, and more! Goodies came with the party (I score!) and were set up.
