How to Use Research Buddies in Farmagia

Within Farmagia, you are able to collect two types of monsters: Research Buddies and Battle Buddies. It's crystal clear that you take battle Buddies into battle in the Mazes but less apparent exactly what you do with Research Buddies.

Where to Find Farmagia Research Partners

You will be given Research Buddies for defeating the enemies found in the Mazes. Sometimes, these creatures will let you choose their seeds, which you can plant on your farm.

You will be given a choice of one of three types of seed:

Small, green pouches-one square foot is required to plant

To plant the medium blue pouches, you will want a 2×2 square.

Plant large purple bags in a 3×3 square. After some time, you will be ready to harvest. Your Research Buddies take bigger size time; the longer it will take to harvest. My Role as a Research Buddy

In Farmagia, your Research Buddies are different from Battle Buddies. Unfortunately, the game does not allow you to just clear a dungeon and plant all your loot in order to capture an army of monsters.

On the other hand, Research Buddies serve a dual purpose. The former is self-explanatory, really. Stockpiling Research Buddies will reward you with Research Points. You can use this to level up your farm, your skills, and to unlock more types of Battle Buddies eventually. There is, however, another use for it.

While Research Buddies cannot actually participate in battles, they do help determine the outcomes of battles. When you happen to collect three of the same type of Research Buddy, you will be able to unlock that monster's United Form that you can use with your Battle Buddies. Their Unite Blitz moves use this form, which may be customized when more forms are unlocked.

Since these mature forms are usually stronger compared to those default forms that the Battle Buddies use, it is then to your advantage that you can equip them. The same can be said about their attack statistics and cooldown states, often reduced as opposed to basic Forms.

Methods of Reaping Full Benefits from the Research Partners in Farmagia

The way to use Research Buddies in Farmagia is to grow three of each type. In this way, as you go along you can have additional Forms unlocked. You will still get Research Points from planting Research Buddies after you have harvested three of them, but it's better not to spend farm space doing this.

With both a United Form Research Buddy, and Battle Buddy, make extra sure to give special attention to your farm in order to get the most out of it. You really shouldn't have a problem early on finding enough enemies to fight for Research Points without the extra help, especially since you'll be fighting through different varieties of monsters as the plot unfolds.

Use the Research Buddies properly, and you will definitely have a boost in your fight to win in Farmagia.
