So, in case you are here, that means you really wish to know how to fix CACHE_MANAGER BSOD in Windows; pay attention.

The 'CACHE_MANAGER' stop code upon BSOD in Windows reflects a critical condition relating to the cache manager. This module enhances file access and system performance by keeping a tab on cached data in memory.

This is a system error that may have been caused by issues while reading or writing cached data, leading to instability in Windows, crashes, and BSODs. In such cases, memory corruption, corrupted disk sectors, outdated or incompatible drivers, and problems related to software and hardware are all common causes.

System loads, which may result from the demanding operation of applications or heavy amounts of data, heighten the probability of the CACHE_MANAGER error.

If your computer throws up the error message, CACHE_MANAGER, find a solution in this article.

1. SFC, DISM, CHKDSK

This might be because of some issues with your disk or corruption in system files. You could run the SFC, DISM, and CHKDSK commands in Command Prompt to repair the system files from such problems.

Press Windows + S and open the Search menu. Type cmd.

Please hit the following commands one after the other: sfc /scannow Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth shk C: /f

Follow up after the runs of the above scans with a restart of the computer.

2. Memory Diagnostic Tool

Faulty memory is often the culprit behind systems crashing and data corruption. If you suspect that something is wrong with your computer's memory, perhaps faulty RAM modules in your computer, then you can find out using the pre-installed Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.

Open Windows Memory Diagnostic using Windows + S.

Click "Open" to open the program.

On the option saying, "Restart now and check for problems (recommended)" click on it. Please close this, save whatever work you're working on and restart your computer.

As you are waiting for the diagnostic to run, please be informed that there will be some onscreen prompts.

If in an instance, you want to run some tests a little bit more advanced, use PassMark MemTest86. Please refer to this article. For more details.

3. CMOS Battery Replacement

A dead or weak CMOS battery may lead to incorrect system time, boot errors, and BSOD. The CMOS battery powers the BIOS firmware to store critical settings such as system clock and hardware settings.

Try replacing the CMOS battery after that. If you want to know about CMOS batteries inside out, check out our article.

4. Rename AODDriver2.sys to AODDriver2.old-for AMD users

When overclocking an AMD CPU/GPU, a driver called AODDriver2.sys is required; this driver is part of the AMD OverDrive package. If this driver becomes corrupted, gets outdated, or otherwise becomes incompatible with newer versions of Windows, you might find yourself booting into Windows logo errors.

This changes the file name to prevent it from being loaded by Windows to cease the BSODs. Note that this is to be performed only if you no longer want overclocking or if you are suffering problems associated with AMD OverDrive since you will be disabling it.

Start in Advanced Startup.

Scroll down to the Troubleshoot option.

Scroll down to the Advanced menu.

Click the Command Prompt button, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Do the following: Run the ATI Technologies installation file. The components included are AODDriver2.old, AODDriver2.sys, and ATI.ACEFuelamd64

Enable the Windows again.

6. Reinstalling Windows

You can even give it a shot by reinstalling Windows. This process would remove the existing version of Windows installed and erase problematic software and files.

Download Media Installation Tool from the Microsoft site.

Insert a USB drive into your PC.

Click on the "Create Installation Media" button.

Windows Edition, Architecture, and Language can be selected from here.

Click Next after choosing either "Use recommended settings" or a custom one.

From the next screen, choose the ISO format.

Save the ISO file to a location of your choice.

Open Rufus once the download is complete to get started with the tool.

First, insert your USB device, then open Rufus.

Select UEFI as the target system and GPT as the partition scheme.

Choose the ISO file and click the Start button.

Then, power off your laptop, power it up again, and press F12 or whatever other boot key your motherboard owns to boot from this USB.

By following the on-screen instructions, install Windows.

If none of the fixes fixed the issue, then the problem may be with the hardware. Most BSODs are generated often because some internal pieces were flawed, such as RAM, motherboards, and CPUs. Change the new one for those you find broken or malfunctioning. Some pieces are fragile and should be handled only by professionals if one is not sure.

That would be everything to know about How to Fix CACHE_MANAGER BSOD in Windows, and hope we were of the greatest utility for you.
