Resolve the Windows couldn’t connect to the ProfSVC service error with our easy troubleshooting guide. Get your system running smoothly again!
The inability of Windows to establish a connection to the ProfSVC service is an issue that some users have reported. When attempting to access one's User Accounts, this is a common problem. In the event that the User Profile Service is unavailable or corrupt, this error will be triggered. To get around this problem and resolve it, you may have to create a new user account so you can access your files again after the corrupt one locks you out. To solve this issue and prevent data loss, we will be investigating comparable methods today.
For what does ProfSvc stand?
For appropriate management of user profiles and loading and unloading, the ProfSvc service—also known as the Windows User Profile Service—is essential. These profiles hold data and settings that are specific to every Windows account.
The ProfSVC service could not be established by Windows.
Fix Windows couldn’t connect to the ProfSVC service
1. Verify the Windows Service that is accountable
The Windows Services Manager can be accessed by typing services.msc into the Start search box and pressing Enter.
Find User Profile Service and open its Properties box by double-clicking on it.
After that, you need to change the Startup Type to Automatic and ensure that it is running.
2. Launch the in-built administrator and log in using it.
An Administrator account is pre-installed on all Windows computers. With this Administrator account activated, we can create a new profile only for you.
To implement this workaround, you must first create a Windows 10 bootable USB drive and then boot your computer from it. Next, on the Welcome Screen, click Repair your machine in the window's lower left corner after you've clicked Next.
Proceed by selecting Troubleshoot.
Next, choose the Advanced Options menu. Command Prompt followed.
Now type the following command into the Command Prompt window after it has opened:
active:yes net user administrator
The last step is to exit the Command Prompt by typing exit. If you want the changes to stick, you have to restart your computer.
Another option is to use the Command Prompt to create a new user account for yourself.
3. Changing the root directory
People have been talking about another fascinating and rather easy fix in the forums.
Just go to a different computer and log in there; it won't be experiencing any issues.
Select the default folder and copy it from the provided location. You should enable the ability to view hidden files and folders before continuing, as it might be hidden.
File: Users
Move it to a flash drive now.
After you've created a user account in Method 2, boot your broken machine into that account.
Once you've done that, insert your USB drive and go to the Users folder again.
Additionally, change the existing default folder's name to default.old.
You can now transfer the default folder to a broken computer by using a USB drive.
Before you create this new folder, be careful to remove any files that end in.DAT.
To see if it resolved your problems, try rebooting your computer.
4. Fix the Profile of the User
If the User Profile is corrupt, try fixing it manually or using ReProfiler.
