Today I will teach you how to fix the problem “Incorrect PSK provided for network SSID”

The “PSK provided incorrectly for network SSID” issue indicates that the password entered does not match the stored network credentials or the profile is outdated. This issue usually arises when a device does not recognize the network encryption (PSK, pre-shared key).

How to fix the problem “Incorrect PSK provided for network SSID”

The “PSK provided incorrectly for network SSID” issue indicates that the password entered does not match the stored network credentials or the profile is outdated. This issue usually arises when a device does not recognize the network encryption (PSK, pre-shared key).

Although incorrect network credentials or a corrupted network profile are the most common cause, other factors such as incorrect router security settings that do not match the network profile stored on the device can also contribute.

It is recommended to restart the router before attempting any solutions as this will not only remove temporary conflicts when updating the router settings but will also resolve potential communication issues between the router and the devices, which should resolve the issue.

1. Reconnect to the network so that you forget it.

This is the easiest and simplest way to fix the problem. If you forget how to reconnect to the network, the device will erase the credentials stored on it and also any outdated or incorrect network profiles.

If the profile has outdated settings, such as an incorrect password or an inconsistent encryption method that conflicts with the current network settings, forgetting it and reconnecting to the network should fix it.

2. In this window, select "Disconnect" from the list of options when you click on that network.

After disconnecting again, click on the same Wi-Fi network again and reconnect by entering the correct password if prompted.

The second step is to update or reinstall the network drivers. Newer security protocols like WPA2/AES may not be recognized if your network drivers are outdated or corrupted. Establishing a secure and reliable network connection, network drivers act as a bridge between your device and the router.

3. Manually assign network conditions.

Sometimes, entering the correct network details, such as password, SSID, and security protocol, when adding another network manually can resolve your connectivity issues. You can avoid authentication errors when connecting to the network because this process ensures that the proper security protocols, such as WPA2-Personal and AES, are in place.

Follow the steps in the linked article to restore network settings on your Windows device if the problem persists. Still, it probably won't help you because you already reinstalled the network adapter. It is time to reset the configuration of your router if restoring the network configuration does not work. Therefore, look for your ISP, describe the problem, and ask if they could help you resolve the issue.
