How to complete Cuccos on the Loose quest in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

P-cal Kakariko Village is one of the scant few places that have been left relatively intact by the rifts. The monsters there are not in a rage, but Zelda needs to help a couple of the civilians nonetheless. Here is a guide through the Cuccos on the Loose quest in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Kakariko Village is just to the west of Hyrule Castle. Once inside the village head up the steps at the main entrance and head west; stop next to a woman standing beside the fence. Speaking to the woman will initiate the side quest Cuccos on the Loose.

Please assist this lady in finding her five Cuccos that are scattered around Kakariko Village. Should you stumble upon a Cucco, you will need to save it by picking it up and returning it to its pen. Each of the Cuccos has the ability to stray from their initial location; however, upon entering and exiting a house, they reset.

By the gate of Kakariko Village you will find the first Cucco. Even if it does venture eastward toward a house this Cucoo will not leave the community or even climb the steps.

At the beginning of the quest, near the fence, the second Cucco is heading northward through the village. Rather than continue northward, this Cucco could easily stray on right to the woman who is so desperately searching for them from the bottom of her heart.

The third can be found south of the woman asking for help. It's close to the house, and there are flowers sprouting from the roof. It's sometimes hard to see the patches of flowers it sits in if this Cucco manages to wander into them.

The fourth Cucco is in the cemetery on the northwest corner of town. This Cucco is on his way from the cemetery to the roadway of the village center.

The fifth Cucco is perched atop a windmill in the northeastern corner of the village. You can't simply wait for this Cucco to come off because it won't move.

How to get on top of the Windmill

Starting just north of the village, you can follow the Eldin Volcano Trail up to the top of the windmill. Climb the first ledge and head over to the cliff that looks down on the path you've just walked. Here, create a bridge between this cliff and the opposite one on the eastern side by placing two bed Echoes.

The windmill is south from here; to get there, just walk around to the east of this bluff. At this point, press A to call forth a quick Guay Echo and then capture the bird. Once you step down the cliff, use the Guay to float towards the roof of the windmill. Aim at the left side of the windmill, since it is a little lower and easier to land on. Replace the glider with another Cucco if you don't have a Guay echo. The only thing that you must do to get the chickens up the mountain is to throw them over and over again.

By the time you finally return all five Cuccos to this pen, the woman will reward you with a Fairy Bottle.
