If you've played Echoes of Wisdom and find yourself at that juncture in the story where a choice is to be made as to which dungeon to visit first, whether that of the Zora or of the Gerudo, you may notice that Jabul Water lies much to the north, while Gerudo Desert is almost immediately to the west. Since it is the zone along the more direct route, you may come to assume that Gerudo Desert is easier.

Gerudo Desert is, in fact, more hazardous than Jabul Waters due to the more challenging types of enemies and the effect of distortion that the sandstorm has on the map. It's easier to head north to Jabul Waters first, then Fast Traveling back to the entrance once you have acquired a couple more Echoes and Heart Containers, though this takes longer than the other method.
