To commemorate this, Destiny 2 is hosting a limited-time 10th-anniversary event. Along with a new title, players will be able to acquire an armor set referred to as the Veteran Legend Armor Set. The event went live on September 9th when the daily reset occurred. Please note that in-game notifications do not signal the activation of this event.
How to Acquire the Veteran Legend Armor Set

This is the Veteran Legend Armor set, obtained when players find all five of Cayde-6's hidden stashes around the Pale Heart region of the Tower. Each will contain one part of the armor set.
First Stash: Head forward, passing the mailbox and the stairs behind it. At the top, take a right and round the corner to find the first stash.
Second Stash: This one's hiding behind the boxes where Cayde-6 stood prior to completing The Final Shape Campaign.
Third Stash: Head down the stairs that used to lead to the Vanguard Command Table in Destiny 1. Once at the bottom, turn around, and this stash will be seen towards Eris Morn's old spot.
Fourth Cache: Go to the blocked-off entrance to the Hangar. Pass by Cabal Guard on the right-hand side toward the balcony. The fourth cache is there.
Fifth Cache: The final one is in the Speaker's Chamber - you know, the same room you got the exotic version of Khvostov. As soon as you go in, move right to the window and, voila. Last cache.
Once all five pieces of the Veteran Legend Armor set are obtained, don't convert them to ornaments yet. Instead, proceed to the Earth's Tower social space and go near the Special Deliveries Kiosk beside Banshee-44. The option will be there to purchase the ornament version of the armor.

Once all the five pieces of the Veteran Legend Armor Set have been acquired, certain objectives to obtain the Legend title will reveal themselves. These vary but usually involve completing certain activities or challenges either in the complete armor set or its universal ornament version.
Wear the Veteran Legend Armor Set or its Universal Ornament version and participate in the associated objectives to move further along your path to the Legend title. Eventually, this will give way to a chunk of your progress and lead to the ultimate title.
