Tamping your coffee is an essential part of the process when making a great cup of coffee as it will compress the grinds evenly into your portafilter, preventing water from escaping the group head during extraction. Finding the right tamp force and polishing time will ensure that your machine delivers all of the delicious flavours of your coffee beans to perfectly suit your taste.
Directions:
1. Click ‘Menu’ and toggle the ‘Select’ dial until ‘Tamp set’ is displayed.
2. When the tamp set is displayed on the LCD screen, press the ‘Select’ dial. The ‘Tamp Force’ setting will flash.
3. Turn the ‘Select’ dial to a setting between nine and one. Then press again to set.
4. The current polishing time will flash. Turn the ‘Select’ dial to choose a time between 2-10 seconds. Press again to set.
5. The machine will beep once to confirm your new settings.
