When we first saw Kaling's adult animated comedy Velma, an animated remake of the famous Scooby-Doo cartoon, we were so excited that we re-imagined Velma Dinkley. That certainly doesn't sound like modern "fun," but that's not a good thing. It sounds like their Harley Quinn show. On the surface it looks like a kids show, but when you watch it, it's a damning and mischievous adult parody of the DC Universe. This looks like it's going to be yet another sleazy, mean-spirited adult cartoon for the sleazy. Who cares about a show that features every Scooby-Doo character except Scooby-Doo? The franchise is called "Scooby Doo", not "Scooby Doo and 4 other guys". Might just turn Scooby-doo into a dog.
