Check out more helpful tips with us in our H-E-B Texas Tails playlist and visit your H-E-B pet aisle for everything for your fur family or explore more online. 00:00 hi I'm Stacie with HPV and this is Gwen 00:01 we're here with Karen bead certified dog 00:03 behavior consultant what are we doing 00:05 today finding out what our dogs like so 00:07 we could reward them while training dogs 00:23 do things to get what they want and to 00:25 feel safe everyone has likes and 00:27 dislikes and it's important if you want 00:29 to have a good relationship with your 00:30 dog to understand what they like it's 00:32 nice to have a variety of toys because 00:34 some dogs like to shred them some dogs 00:36 like to carry them some dogs like to 00:38 sleep with them and some dogs like to 00:40 play tug a cheapy has a great line of 00:42 toys called whoopin whiskers that's 00:44 exclusive to us it has everything you 00:46 need for your dog from tennis balls to 00:48 rope toys as well as seasonal toys that 00:50 change out periodically so let's test 00:52 our dogs to see if they like food or 00:54 toys better some dogs like both drop the 00:57 toy and see if they'll play with it by 00:58 themselves 00:59 OOP guess what looks like this guy likes 01:01 to play with toys remember that 01:03 thrashings not a sign of aggression it's 01:04 just very normal play look at the happy 01:07 wagging tail let's drop it and he says 01:10 no I don't have a clue what to do with 01:11 this 01:12 remember dogs like this shouldn't be 01:14 left unsupervised with toys they can 01:16 destroy they're meant to be played with 01:17 with the dog a lot of dogs might find it 01:20 too confrontational if your hand is 01:22 attached to the toy some like this one 01:23 don't have a problem with it so let's 01:26 move it a bit throw it not so much with 01:30 this dog now we're going to see what 01:32 really floats their boat 01:33 let's hope it's food I like to play a 01:36 game of tossing the food left and 01:38 tossing it right yep they like food 01:40 especially when it's moving these are 01:43 little things you can do to really get 01:44 them into stuff again we are looking for 01:46 things that we can use to reward them 01:48 for good behavior 01:51 thanks for joining us visit your h-e-b 01:53 for everything cut click here to 01:57 subscribe for more h-e-b Texas tales- advertisement spot 2020
