In this video, Aurélia Leblanc explains the process behind one of the special weaves developed for the show, made on a traditional loom and threaded with feathers and gold threads. 00:03 We started with a sample I had woven 00:06 using black and gold feathers. 00:09 For the fashion show theme, 00:11 we worked with shades with an aged effect, slightly rusty. 00:16 Here, we're using two threads, one rusty gold and one black 00:19 and we apply them at specific points in the weaving pattern, 00:23 meaning that it follows musical notes. 00:25 For each note, there is a colour that must be used to create the motif. 00:30 This base material, a transparent thread, 00:32 enables us to create very pure colour shades. 00:35 The shading is closely linked with the gold colour appearing 00:39 and the black colour disappearing, with irregular stripes. 00:44 We insert them through the weave itself 00:47 so that they are closely connected, as if the motif also becomes textured. 00:50 The irregularity is mostly the result of working by hand, 00:54 meaning that we can really choose 00:56 different intonations and different positions 00:58 so that the weave is almost like a poetic interpretation. - advertisement spot 2019
