Today in our article we teach you how to Show the Edge Bar on the Windows 11 Desktop.

The above steps will show you the Edge Bar on the Windows 11 desktop. The visibility of the Edge Bar mostly features in Windows 10, but it is also enabled/switched on Windows 11 desktops.

Edge bar-what is it?

On the right-hand side of your screen, you will notice an additional sidebar called the Edge Bar. It contains a search bar, several quick-access buttons, and famous websites such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Amazon, Hulu, and many more. The main advantage of using the Edge Bar is that you can access them even when you do not have the Edge browser opened.

Unfortunately, the Edge Bar cannot be used by Windows 11 users, which is a shame because it has its uses. That is why this tutorial will show you how to get it ready for Windows 11.

How to Enable Windows 11 Desktop Edge Bar

Follow the first step to enable Edge Bar, which is finding the Edge browser shortcut on your Windows 11 desktop. If there is no shortcut on the desktop, press Win+R to open the Run prompt and insert the following command.

This is how the path to the Microsoft Windows program directory looks: Under Menu > Programs, select and press the Enter key.

Then click on Microsoft Edge from the context menu and create a shortcut on your desktop.

Then, on the desktop shortcut, right-click and select Properties from the pop-up menu. Then, in the Target box after the current text, paste this:

The following features can be enabled: edge bar auto-hide into the right margin on Windows 11 for testing and enable features like these.

Leave some white space between the current text and the parameter.

Save the change by clicking on the Apply and OK buttons.

Launch Edge from your desktop then head to the Settings wizard.

Switch to the Copilot and sidebar tab and navigate to the Edge Bar area. Finally, turn it on by clicking on the Enable Edge Bar button.

You'll then see the Edge Bar on the right afterward. Another way to have the Edge Bar pop up at startup is to toggle the button that says Automatically open when the device starts.
