Uninstall Recall Feature on Windows 11 

You can completely uninstall the Recall feature from a Windows 11 PC using the three native features. These are: 

• Uninstall Recall feature using Windows Features in Windows 11 
• Remove Recall AI using Command Prompt in Windows 11 
• Uninstall Windows Recall using Windows Terminal in Windows 11.

 We go through these options one by one.

1] Uninstall Recall Feature Using Windows Features in Windows 11

 Windows Features (or OptionFeatures.exe) helps in managing optional Windows features including the Recall AI. Here are the steps to uninstall the Recall feature using the Windows Features interface on a Windows 11 computer: 

• Open the Windows 11 Settings app 
• Navigate to System > Optional Features > More Windows Features (under the Related Settings section). This will open the Windows Features interface. Alternatively, you can type Windows features in the search box and press the Enter key to open Windows Features 

• Scroll down the list of available features 
• Uncheck the Recall option
•  Press the OK button 
• Restart your Windows 11 PC. It may take some time to apply the changes you made. After that, the Recall feature will be removed from your PC. However, keep in mind that the Windows Recall installation files may remain there, which would be helpful when you want to install the Recall feature again.

To add or reinstall the Recall feature in Windows 11, follow the steps above, check the Recall option in the Windows Features interface, and hit OK. Restart your computer.

2] Uninstall Recall AI Using Command Prompt in Windows 11 

In this process, we will be using a command-line tool called DISM-Deployment Image Servicing and Management inside the Command Prompt window. This utility could be used to repair Windows images, perform servicing of a Windows image (*.wim), and enable or disable optional Windows features including Recall, Online, and Offline respectively. Follow these steps to remove the Windows Recall feature using Command Prompt on a Windows 11 PC: 

• Open Windows Terminal as an administrator. To do so, right-click on the Start button and select the Terminal (Admin) option. 
• Launch a Command Prompt profile. 
• Run the following DISM command with the disable and online parameters along with the name of the feature that is to be disabled or removed from your PC: DISM /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:"Recall"​ Restart the PC and Recall AI will be started. removed.

To reinstall the Recall feature in Windows 11, open an administrative profile in a Windows Terminal and run the above command with the enable parameter. Command: DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:"Recall"​ 

3] How to Uninstall Uninstall Recall feature using Windows Terminal in Windows 11

 We are going to use Windows Terminal with a PowerShell profile for this method. If you want, you can also open the PowerShell window directly. The steps are as follows to uninstall the Recall feature using Windows Terminal in Windows 11 Windows 11: 

• Open the Windows Terminal interface as an administrator
•  Launch a Windows PowerShell profile in a new Windows Terminal tab 
• Now run the command containing the disable feature with the Windows option and the feature name. The command to run is: 

Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName "Recall" Once the command completes, it will reboot the PC, if required, and the Recall AI feature will be removed.

To reinstall the Recall feature in Windows 11, launch a Windows PowerShell Profile in an elevated Windows Terminal and run the above command again using the enable parameter: Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName "Recall"​ Restart your PC and the Recall feature will be enabled.
