If you don’t know how to remove “NBA Trends” from the Windows lock screen, here is a complete guide that will help you.

In relation, Windows Spotlight on the lock screen of Windows devices has featured what's trending in the NBA. Windows spotlight brings ads, sports scores, highlights, and more on your device automatically.

Remove Trending in the NBA from Windows Lock Screen

This feature automatically offers users the most popular updates or information on relevant issues. But to a person who isn't into sports, it may have no meaning. Users also cannot customize the content on the lock screen because it's from Microsoft-curated news and updates.

Here, we will cover how to disable the Trending in NBA after having introduced this capability.

1. Disable Windows Spotlight.

As covered, Windows Spotlight automatically displays various content genres, including the Trending in NBA. You could disable Windows Spotlight to get around the updates, news, and advertisements.

Right-click the desktop background and click on "Personalize" from the context menu that appears.

Then go to the Lock Screen portal.

On the Personalize Lock Screen menu, select Picture.

Then see if it fixes the problem.

2. Change the Lock Screen Attribute

Disable dynamic content such as news or sports updates by setting in lock screen the status to None or any other option. By making this change, you will be able to customize the lock screen by displaying only whatever material is selected together with the static graphics.

Customize desktop by right-clicking on desktop.

Next, go to the Lock Screen menu and click on None from within the Lock Screen Status.

By then, notifications or news should no longer be appearing on the lock screen.

3. Set Up the Editor for Group Policies

You can disable some of the material types, such as sports, news, and weather, from within Group Policy Editor settings. In order to fix this, you have to create a policy labeled as Do not show the lock screen policy.

To use the following steps on Windows Home, you must first install the Group Policy Editor. The above link with a click will suffice.

Press the Windows key plus the R key to open the Run window.

In the input box, enter gpedit.msc to open the Group Policy Editor and click OK.

Then, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel, and then click on "Personalization".

Double-click the policy labeled "Do not display the lock screen" in the right pane, setting the radio button to the option "Enabled.".

Then, the lock screen will not show anything, neither notifications nor news.

I am done. Each way provides you control over the content being displayed, whether it is disabling Windows Spotlight, adjusting the status of the Lock Screen, or using the Group Policy Editor settings.

Your lock screen will be less cluttered once set up via the above steps, and it will also prevent the unwanted notifications.
