How to Obtain the Recycler in Moonstone Island
You can only recycle after completing one of the festivals that came with the most recent Moonstone Island update. You would want to join in on the Lunar Festival for the meteor shower so you can make a wish upon the falling stars. This event involves gathering Moonstones to kick it off, but it's after that first run that you can gain the Recycler.
Summer 21, at 0:00, the Lunar Festival is held. It's as easy as pie to head onto the beach and onto the pier. The screen automatically shifts to the villager's gathering on the pier, all awaiting the show. After you have chosen a partner to watch the meteor shower with, the show will begin. If you click the interact button every time an aura-surrounded meteor will appear through the event, you'll be given Moonstones.
No matter how much falling stars you've caught during the star festival, Zed will be inspired to build a new machine the next morning. Recycler Usage
The Recycler has a similar function to most of the crafting tables and machinery on Moonstone Island, breaking things down into their base elemental components.
A Moonstone Enchanter will need to be used to craft a Recycler, but by now you should already have one for crafting the Spirit Barn and other items made with it. You can find the Recycler near the very bottom of the Moonstone Enchanter menu. It's crafted with 5 Wood, 3 Iron Ingots, and 1 Moonstone Ingot. You will need a Furnace to make Moonstone and Iron Ore into Ingots. Once you have created the Recycler, like any other crafting station, you can place it and set it up. The Recycler is also very easy to use: just select an item you would like to break down into its component parts and drop it into the machine. When you place an item into the Recycler, a tray will pop up showing what you'll receive from it. That's quite useful. Most crops and raw materials can't be recycled, so they won't show up. Similarly, choosing these options does nothing.
Recycling takes immediate effect. Your inventory will be cleared and refilled with the materials upon selecting an item. If possible at all, you will want to double-check what item you have chosen before confirming. Should you accidentally recycle the wrong object it will require you to re-make said object using the materials you've just obtained. At this time, there is no real way to undo the action of recycling.
