Prepare to learn the Exhuming the Past quest in Starfield, as here you'll learn just about everything you'd like to know.

In Darza, you'll be required to head into the abandoned Ma'leen Dam as part of the questline for the House Hulk'kehf. save for encountering one of several puzzles in the game, most of these are pretty run-of-the-mill. To complete Starfield's Exhuming the Past, follow the steps below.

How to Complete Exhuming the Past Quest in Starfield

Starfield Shattered Space's Exhuming the Past begins with some very straightforward beginnings. Investigate the dam, grab the keycard from Kaviil Fahrzanas, and use that to access the computer to drain the water in. All you need to do is follow the waypoints, really. You'll have to fight off more than one Phantom, though. Once you've cleared them out, you can activate the Teleportation Experiment.

Exhuming the Past Teleportation Experiment solution

The three numbers you have to enter to unlock the keycard to get the Teleportation Experiment: When you view Recent Experimental Results, 235 will come up on the computer. The low power requires you to add another 100. Using this information, you can enter 335 and flip on the switch.

To complete the Starfield: Exhuming the Past Teleportation Experiment, you'll want to procure the Experiment Keycard. Continuing on, you'll notice a door directly in front of you that can be used with said card. Get ready for another fight against those mysterious folk. They will be tough to handle since they are very closely bunched up. For maximum cover, I suggest you take full advantage of the long corridor you traversed from when you came in.

Divert Power to the Interlock Console

Once you've emerged victorious, head to your computer's Research Logs and read file 2259.4.10. Then head to divert the power to the interlock console in the next room. As you work your way over to the objective, cut the pins on the red door. You can shoot them or use a weapon  and slice it.

Now you'll be dealing with more enemies, but you can simply shoot the closest turret and ignore them.

Do you destroy the last Interlock or leave the dam be in Starfield Exhuming the Past?

At this juncture, something has to give: you will need to decide whether to remove the other interlock or flee the dam. Taking it off results in the horrific implication of making a hamlet nearby defenseless. Take a moment to reflect on how such an outcome feels to the characters, such as the feelings of Andreja, before making a final decision.

Or, on the other hand, you can get the happy ending by escaping the dam, but that will be very long and requires you to go in reverse. You'll have to fight a few extra Phantoms in this one, too, so it's slightly trickier compared to the other one. This all just simply boils down to your playing style, though, so there isn't exactly a worse option.

First, you must turn on the power to remove the interlock. From the switches, turning left, you will encounter a doorway. Do what you do best: open it and shoot the mechanism. You now can press the buttons that give you access to leave the elevator. Well, kind of. remember with the happy ending, you still cannot enter the elevator.
