Witchfire: How to Get More Healing Elixirs

In Witchfire, a health elixir is a round capsule and the only really reliable method of healing, restoring health over time as well as purging elemental diseases and affects. Unfortunately, it gives you just one health potion at the start of the game, and it is not going to cut it once you start exploring more challenging regions or leveling up your Gnosis. That is, especially if you are a new player in rogue-lite games, since Witchfire does provide a fair amount of challenge. The good news is that you can actually expand the amount of slots to fit more health elixirs in Witchfire. It takes some work and time, but it isn't as tough compared to the growth of the main character in the game. Let me show you what to do.

How to Get More Healing Elixirs in Witchfire

The only way to get extra healing elixir slots in Witchfire is by gaining experience.

Once your Preyer has reached a certain level, it will give you permission to carry one extra healing elixir. In the Workshop, there is nothing to research; in the Ascension Shrine, nothing needs to be upgraded; on maps, no feats of strength will require that you do anything. Curiously, there are no in-game hints to suggest when or how you receive healing elixirs, so you may be surprised to find you have more when commencing a new quest. Witchfire caps you at five healing elixirs in total. For each slot, below you will find the current elixir level requirement. These used to be considerably higher before the last patch. The "Bonus Elixir" Arcana upgrade in Witchfire adds an extra slot for another elixir. Consequently, because of that, it becomes possible to carry more elixirs than the maximum amount. That said, it is highly critical to point out that the Arcana will be beneficial during this journey only. It disappears the moment one dies or utilizes an extraction portal to get back to the Hermitorium.

Pull more elixirs from Apothecary Stash

You can create more healing elixirs in Witchfire at the Apothecary. They will be automatically transferred to your Hermitorium. You cannot handle stash like inventory, but with each outing, you need to take as many healing elixirs with you as possible from the stash.

Witchfire really needs to do a better job of explaining this auto-system to new players. If you feel like you have less than what's physically possible to carry, the elixirs aren't in your inventory. If you run out, go back and craft additional elixirs with the Angelica herbs.
