How to Catch Legendary Fish in Fields of Mistria

Fishing in Fields of Mistria is relatively easy, but in order to get that Fish Wing done in the Museum, it requires attention to detail. Catching every fish in season involves a combination of location, type of water, the size of the fish shadow, and the weather outside.

Meanwhile, it would be a good idea to level up your Fishing Skill for those Legendary Fish. There are four varieties, one for each season of the year. Mastering your fishing technique and exploring different fishing grounds will better your chances of reeling in those prized catches.

How to Level Up Fishing Quickly

Fishing Tips in Fields of Mistria

Legendary Fish can be caught only when Fishing Skill Level 30 is reached and the Legendary Perk for 80 Essence has been purchased. Once this has been done, notifications of the places where to find a Legendary Fish will show up at the beginning of every day. However, there can only be one Legendary Fish per season; thus, notifications will not be general.

Fishing and diving are continuously done to level up the Fishing Skill. It might not be noticeable right away, but doing daily fishing gives experience toward it. Other ways are via getting Perks from Tier 1 and Tier 2:

Weedline Watcher (Tier 1): It reduces junk catch chance

Appealing Reeling (Tier 1): Gives a radius increase in fish attracted to your bobber.

Perfect Catch Rank 2: This increases the chance of reeling up the uncommon and rare fish.

Whereas it would be possible to catch the Legendary Fish using a weaker rod, it's highly advisable to invest in the purchase or forging of the Silver Fishing Rod. That gives a much better rod capable of longer casts to reach all the hot spots better and easier.

Where to Find Cherry Fish

Look for a Pond in The Eastern Road during Spring Season. This rare fish only comes on Windy Days when the cherry blossoms are blooming. Remember, you can check your crystal ball for weather forecasts: If the picture in your crystal ball shows a cherry blossom, then it is a Windy Day.

Fishing Tips:

Target Ponds: Cherry Fish can only be found in ponds. Limit your search to the southern half of The Eastern Road, as it contains the most suitable fishing locations.

Small Shadows: Search for small shadows in the water. These mean Cherry Fish are present in the area.

Refresh the Fish: If there are no shadows, sometimes leaving and coming back into the area "refreshes" the fish.

All these will help you greatly in adding the Cherry Fish to your museum collection, provided you are patient enough to follow these guidelines.

Lightning Fish: A Stormy Catch

The Lightning Fish is a summer-exclusive catch and can only be found when it's storming outside. You'll be able to find this medium-sized fish in rivers. Check out the river below the bridge in The Narrows, south of the museum and Errol's house for finding Lightning Fish during stormy weather.

Leaf Fish: A Fall Foliage Find

To fish up Leaf Fish, head to the river on The Eastern Road during Fall season, when days are windy and leaves fall. This, incidentally, is the same river as near the bridge you fixed during one of Mistria's story quests. Take note of small shadows in the water, as this is where the Leaf Fish will spawn.

Snow Fish: A Winter Wonderland Catch

Snow Fish is a Legendary Fish that can only be caught while it is snowing, and only in the ocean waters along The Beach. On the beach, within any body of water at The Beach, cast your line into medium-sized shadows along The Beach. Remain in a single spot without excessive movement. If you aren't bringing fish into view in the water, try going in and out of The Beach or the Tackle Shop to "refresh" the ocean.

Legendary Fish: A Treasure for the Museum

Legendary Fish cannot be sold or stored in your cabin. Their actual value lies in their contribution to the Museum's Fish Wing. If you donate all four Legendary Fish, you will get a set completion reward. The values inside this reward change depending on how many Fish Wing sets you have completed. This will include one piece of furniture and its crafting recipe, as well as a treasure box. The more sets you have completed, the better the treasure box.

If you take all the above steps and consider a degree of patience, chances get higher to catch a number of Legendary Fish and to complete the Fish Wing in the Museum.
