How to Level up Fast in Visions of Mana

While quests and side quests will not give experience directly, the defeat of monsters in Visions of Mana is the only way your level will increase. Fortunately, all characters will share experience, whether participating or not and whatever status, to have a balanced party.

The following are tips for maximizing experience: complete the challenges during battles by defeating enemies within the time limit, not taking hits, and using Class Strikes or Elemental Bursts.

Search for Lil' Cactus in All Zones

This is a huge experience boost right here: finding Lil' Cactus, an extremely rare and well-hidden creature throughout the game once you've reached Rime Falls. Once you've found Lil' Cactus in 20 different zones, you get a permanent 50% experience boost on all encounters.

This is a powerful bonus, and getting it in the middle part of the game really makes things accelerate, particularly the challenging second half of the game, especially on Hard difficulty. Each subsequent find of Lil' Cactus, 30 times in all will increase the experience bonus to 100%.

Fight Strong Enemies and Nemeses

If possible, always head towards the highest level areas your party can enter. If there is a boss there that is blocking the way, grind the monsters around it since most of them give off a lot of experience. Every once in a while, don't be afraid of Nemeses in those zones; they are a great way to gain experience.

Some Side Quests, particularly from Chapter 5 and beyond, contain higher-levelled enemies. While quite doable, some of the quests will serve as a great way to earn experience. Be sure to combine all these techniques with other methods of leveling up - such as searching for Lil' Cactus and doing battle challenges - in order to increase your rate even more.

Use Experience Enhancing Items And Valorflies

The Curious Cookie and Miracle Cookie provide temporary experience boosts of 10% and 15%, respectively, for 10 minutes each. For maximum leveling, pop one of these before taking down Nemeses or bosses to get the best experience possible.

If a bonus were to expire during a battle, it remains until all enemies have been defeated so you can gain from the bonus. These cookies are really effective when murdering monster packs in rapid speed, especially if you can trigger regular experience bonuses.

Just don't forget the Valorflies: bright pink butterflies spread over the map. These are the creatures that give a large amount of experience each time they are defeated. Though they appear in random ways, stumbling upon a Valorflie just happens to provide a great opportunity to level much faster.

By doing these together, character leveling will be more effective in Visions of Mana; this means a smooth flow in terms of experience points and Lucre needed for necessary equipment.
