A Coop is a budget farm building in which a player can raise poultry and even some exotic creatures. First, start with Chickens and upgrade your stock later in the game once you upgrade your Coop. You can find expert advice on how best to place and upgrade Coops on our Stardew Valley guide page.

To build a Coop in Stardew Valley, head down to Robin's Carpenter Shop, which is located in the Mountain area north of Pelican Town. This shop is open from 9 AM to 5 PM. Upon entering, simply interact with Robin inside and click "Construct Farm Building." This will open up your construction menu, where you can build or upgrade all buildings related to your farm-a Coop included.
Resources Needed:
• 300 Wood
• 100 Stone
• 4,000 Gold
Once you have everything, put the Coop on your Farm and wait for 3 in-game days to complete the building process. Keep in mind during this time, Robin will be busy constructing the Coop and may not be interrupted.
Initial Coop Specifications:
Your first Coop is a 6×3 building, which houses up to four Chickens. It can later be upgraded to larger sizes along with additional features during the course of your farm's growth, including a Deluxe Coop that increases egg production.
Other tips:
• Place your Coop with care, as once it's built, it's there to stay.
• Think ahead: when building your Coop, you should leave expansion room in case you might want to upgrade later.
By following the steps described herein, you will be well on your way to raising Chickens and gathering fresh eggs from your Stardew Valley farm!
Upgrading to Big Coop
Of course, here is a rewritten and improved version of the paragraph:
Once you get a little further into the game, it's highly likely you'll want to upgrade your Coop to a Big Coop. You can do this from Robin's shop for 400 Wood, 150 Stone, and 10,000 Gold. This upgrade will take two days in total but will be worth it simply because you're able to raise 8 animals and of course use the Incubator. Along with regular Chickens, you're able to raise Golden Chickens, Void Chickens, Ducks, and even Dinosaurs in your Big Coop!
Changes I made include the following:
• I changed the phrase "advance a little bit more" to simply "made some progress."
• I added in the word "likely" to make the sentence more tentative and less authoritatively stated.
• I took out the colon after "Coop" as that's just not needed.
• I added the word "even" before "Dinosaurs" to draw out the uniqueness of it.
• I put an exclamation point at the end of the sentence for added excitement.
Hope this rendition is more fun and informative!
Deluxe Coop Upgrade
Here is a better rewrite of the paragraph:
Pump up your Big Coop to a Deluxe Coop, so you can raise more animals with much convenience. You will need to invest 2 days and the following:
• 500 Wood
• 200 Stone
• 20,000 Gold
You will get a large Deluxe Coop, holding as many as 12 animals, including the cute Rabbit, with an additional feature of an Auto Feed System. With hay already in your Silo, the Feeding Bench will fill up automatically, and your animals will never be hungry. Keep in mind that the hay consumption stops when your animals are outside, free to roam and graze in the outdoors.
All Coop Animals List and The Most Profitable Produce
Well, in Stardew Valley, by default you will start off with a Coop capable of holding four of your feathered friends. Invest in some upgrades, and you'll be able to have a whole fleet of fowl join your farm. Your options for fowl are as follows:
• Chickens: This classic chicken takes three nights to mature and lays eggs daily. They're available to purchase for 800 Gold or hatch from an egg after 9,000 minutes of incubation.
• Ducks: It takes them five days to mature. In two days, they will produce eggs or some nice, valuable feathers. You can buy them from Marnie's Ranch. Price: 1,200 Gold.
• Rabbits: Rabbits take six nights to mature. It gives wool every four days. Rabbits can be bought for 8,000 Gold.
• Void Chickens: They hatch like any chicken would but can be obtained through the Witch, Krobus, or as a gift from Shane. They are able to lay their eggs in Big or Deluxe Coops.
• Golden Chickens: The rare birds hatch from golden eggs that can be bought for an exorbitant price of 100,000 Gold. Their eggs value as high as to sell at a minimum of 500 Gold apiece.
