Here we leave you a complete article with The best initial funds in Core Keeper.

Core Keeper is the popular survival/action/groundskeeper simulator that has finally hit consoles via a release on Game Pass. One of the first choices you will make at the onset of your journey as the titular core keeper is that of their background.

The background you will choose will affect your character's stats at the beginning of the game and even come with extra bonuses. Of course, there are many options to look at; however, when all is said and done, one background seems almost always the best choice for most players, save a few exceptions.

What is the best character background in Core Keeper?

Core Keeper's character backgrounds define your starting bonuses and, thus, the way you'll play the game. Some are good, while others are not as great, but still among them, Explorer is almost always the best background that any player can use, especially in the early parts of the game.

Explorer:

Three Bonus Levels in Running: This gives quite a speed boost and can be instrumental both for traversing the world and avoiding enemies.

Free Lantern: Used for lighting up dark places and finding hidden pathways.

Pre-packaged food rations are a very important starting item to help keep your character viable in the early game when resources are scarce.

Other Backgrounds:

While Explorer is the best option for most starting players, other backgrounds can be more tailored to specific play styles.

Fighter: He begins with a Copper Sword, but will very quickly get out-classed. Miner: Comes with some bonuses to mining-related activities; that can make your resource collection easier.

Chef: Provides cooking-related bonuses, which might help out in the sustainability of your character and in crafting valuable items.

Gardener: Provides gardening-related bonuses, which would be quite useful with concerns to food and crafting items.

Fisherman: Provides bonuses related to fishing, which might be a good source of food and items.

Ranger: Provides bonuses related to projectiles, which could help in engaging with an enemy from a distance.

Mage: Gives magic-related bonuses, which can be the most powerful way to fight and explore.

Warlock: Dark magic bonuses-very effective but with risk involved.

Nomad: No bonus.

Choosing the Correct Background

While choosing your character's background, the following should be considered:

Playstyle: Decide your style of play and then choose a background that fits your style of play.

Early Game Challenges: The Explorer's bonuses are too valuable during the early parts of the game when resources and their survival should be a priority.

Personal Preference: Honestly, the best background is going to be one that appeals to you and feels enjoyable to you personally.

Keep in mind Core Keeper is a sandbox game. This being said, you can tailor your experience as much as you like and try many other different types of plays. Don't worry about trying a different background to see what works out for you.
