For those players, however, who are persistent and really determined to track it down, there are specific locations within Appalachia that have a better chance of returning positive results. It is important to bear in mind that even in such areas, the encounter is not sure because the nature of the creature seems unpredictable to say the least as it is frightening. The Flatwoods Monster is rarely spotted. Though the chances are better in some areas and under certain conditions, seeing one is largely unpredictable. You can slightly improve your chances by searching at night in certain regions.

Some possible locations to find the Flatwoods Monster include the river near Thunder Mountain Power Plant Yard, east of Harpers Ferry, north of Toxic Larry's Meat 'N Go, and within the town of Flatwoods itself. Do note, however, that these are only some of the suggested places; it may show up anywhere in Appalachia.

For a much greater chance of farming multiple Flatwoods Monsters, players should ensure to take advantage of the Invaders From Beyond event. It is during this limited-time event that these creatures spawn every hour on all servers. The Campfire Tales event can also have a Flatwoods Monster as its final boss, but this, again, is entirely dependent on the Invaders From Beyond event.

Quests That Can Spawn The Flatwoods Monster

While tracking down this Flatwoods Monster may be a pain, one way to locate it could be through daily quests. You might get the "Making Sacrifices" quest to hunt this creature; however, it's available only after much progression in the Punk Ally's quest line. This makes it a less reliable method for tracking down the elusive monster.

One of the more promising options for this is the daily quest "Queen of the Hunt" in the Mire region. The one given requires the player to explore up to three locations tracking a cryptid and collect a DNA sample. Again, there's no guarantee, but there could be the possibility that the cryptid one finds is going to turn out to be the Flatwoods Monster.

While these methods can increase your chances of finding one, tracking a Flatwoods Monster largely remains an affair of luck and exploration.
