Watch live on Thursday November 14 at noon Pacific / 3pm Eastern / 8pm UK on Mixer or YouTube. #X019 00:00 [XBOX SOUND] 00:01 X019 is in London this year 00:03 and for that we want to do 00:04 something special for our fans. 00:05 The DPM X019 controller 00:08 is going to be one of our most exclusive drops. 00:25 We are in the Soho neighbourhood 00:27 in the heart of London 00:28 and this is the maharishi store. 00:30 This is an awesome streetware label. 00:33 I've come here quite often, 00:34 just for inspiration as well as just 00:36 from a fashion aspect. 00:39 DPM is the creative camouflage 00:42 force behind the maharishi brand. 00:44 So what you're looking at there is 00:45 the DPM Encyclopedia 00:47 of Camouflage 00:48 that was developed by Hardy Blechman 00:50 in the early 2000s and it's 00:52 become Xbox Design's Holy Grail 00:54 of camouflage and it's 00:56 been in our reference library for ages now. 01:01 X019 is in London this year and 01:03 for that collaboration 01:04 we wanted to do something special for our fans. 01:06 We actually reached out to 01:07 DPM and maharishi to see if we could do a collaboration 01:10 and it resulted in a bespoke 01:13 print that will be available at X019. 01:15 I think it works really well, 01:16 the name on the pattern and so on, 01:18 it flows really well around the controller, it's great. 01:21 So the design on 01:23 this controller is actually a custom one-off print. 01:27 It's called Aquabrush. 01:28 We're purely inspired by London 01:30 and really in particular the Thames river 01:33 that flows through the controller there. 01:34 maharishi's ethos is about pacifist military design 01:37 so one of the things both 01:39 maharishi and DPM Studios 01:41 like to do is to reclaim camouflage 01:43 from its military references and actually bring it 01:45 back to its origins in nature 01:48 as well as in art. 01:49 The print itself is actually inspired 01:51 by 50s French lizard camo 01:53 which actually has its roots back 01:55 to a British brushstroke camo. 01:57 So you can see on this design 01:58 that the camouflage is very hand-painted 02:01 and has a very brushstroke flow and then even further 02:04 camouflaged within the camouflage is actually 02:07 little icons of London 02:09 that you can find in there. 02:10 We'll just let people discover those on their own. 02:18 The maharishi brand 02:19 has a vision to be environmentally sound 02:21 as well as always producing 02:22 high quality utilitarian garments, but one of their 02:25 most iconic elements is their embroidery. 02:28 So here you can see on 02:30 the T-shirt, they take a lot of references 02:32 from Eastern culture and one of their most 02:34 iconic embroideries is their dragon 02:36 that you can also find on our controller. 02:41 So the DPM X019 capsule is going to 02:44 be one of our most exclusive drops. 02:46 We'll include the controller, 02:48 3 T-shirts, 02:49 Xbox bomber jacket, 02:51 Xbox pin, 02:52 as well as wallpapers and 02:54 they'll be available November 14th. 03:25 [XBOX SOUND]- advertisement spot 2019
