Learn more: https://www.volvotrucks.us/trucks/all... 0:18 [Music] 0:22 my name is Jonathan disley I'm the 0:24 design director for Volvo trucks 0:27 globally the allnew Volvo V NL truck is 0:31 an incredible simplistic design it's 0:36 Dynamic it's safe it's high-tech and 0:40 it's also something to be incredibly 0:42 proud of for Volvo trucks in North 0:46 America we were asked to develop a brand 0:49 new product from the ground up before we 0:51 started designing the product we wanted 0:53 to develop a visual strategy that would 0:55 become the beacon for our brand 0:59 [Music] 1:05 our focus is on our North American 1:06 customers and the environments that they 1:08 are in every day the desert the Prairie 1:12 the coastal Forest the Arctic and the 1:15 urban biome the desert biome is a pretty 1:19 harsh environment we really want to make 1:21 sure that it stands the test of time the 1:24 Prairie biome is found at the center of 1:26 our country and is representative of our 1:28 sustainability Journey 1:30 the coastal forest biome which is found 1:33 on each side of the continent and it 1:35 represents a very premium feel and 1:38 emotion to the product the tundra biome 1:41 is a very frigid area of the continent 1:44 and it puts a lot of Demand on our 1:45 products we need to make sure they're 1:47 very robust and the quality is there the 1:50 urban biome is the final biome city-like 1:53 environment that ties all of these other 1:55 trim levels together think about the 1:58 technical details and all the features 2:00 and functions that you would find in a 2:02 working environment the elevation 2:04 pattern connects the biomes and it 2:06 played a really important role in 2:07 connecting a lot of the different 2:09 components in the vehicle for instance 2:12 you will notice we've applied this 2:14 elevation pattern to the headlights to 2:17 the dash to the door panels really 2:19 trying to create a cohesive and 2:21 consistent looking feel to the buvo 2:23 experience bubble design has always been 2:26 known for Innovation and pushing the 2:27 boundary when it comes to aerodynamics 2:30 with the new vnl we now have the 2:32 opportunity to really Excel the premium 2:34 quality and feel of the buvo brand 2:43 experience this team in North America 2:46 should feel incredibly proud about what 2:48 they've done 6 years of intense hard 2:51 work they packaged that into a design 2:55 which looks effortless and it looks like 2:58 something that you've never seen before 3:01 when you see this design for the first 3:03 time you'll notice the performance the 3:07 aerodynamics the Simplicity of the 3:09 design and the Technology and Safety 3:11 that's been baked in it's a design that 3:13 will change everything
