A group head clean should become a routine for every espresso machine owner, both before and after every use. This is because coffee oils and ground coffee residue from your brew can get stuck in the group head, preventing your machine from functioning to its full potential. An onscreen pop-up message will alert you when it’s time for cleaning, but if you need to do a manual clean, follow these easy steps.
Directions: 1. If you need to perform a group head clean manually, access the settings cog from the top right side of the screen and select ‘group head cleaning’. 2. Before you start you will need to empty the drip tray. 3. Insert the one cup basket into the portafilter and place the silicon disk inside. 4. Place the cleaning disk into the centre and attach the portafilter to the group head, then press start to begin. 5. Once the screen indicated the group head clean is finished, remove the portafilter. The tablet should have completely dissolved. If it hasn’t, commence another cycle until fully dissolved. 6. Remove the portafilter and flush the group head to remove any residual of the tablet.
