Whether you are making a Long Black or a Cappuccino, a group head purge should be a regular habit before and after your coffee-making sessions. Doing this regularly will prevent any coffee residue from getting stuck in the group head, ensuring that you are achieving the perfect extraction every time.
Directions:
1.Before your first extraction, insert the filter basket you intend to use for your shot into the portafilter.
2. Insert the portafilter into the group head.
3. Run a short flow of water through the group head by pressing the ‘1-cup’ button.
4. Allow the water to flow for 5-seconds then touch the ‘1-cup’ button again to stop the flow of water. This will purge any ground coffee residue from the group head and stabilise the water temperature prior to extraction.
