What You’ll Need:
- A pair of shoes with natural materials like cotton
- A large pot — it’ll need to hold your shoes and enough liquid to cover them
- Water
- Natural ingredients, like food scraps or plants. Not sure which to use? Watch the video for inspiration!
- 2-3 tbsp Alum — this dye fixative can be found in the spice or canning aisle of your grocery store
- 2-3 tbsp Iron Mordant — this color enricher can be found online
Note: You’ll be working with hot liquid for this one, so adult supervision is required, as well as the use of safety goggles and gloves.
