We’ve been welcomed into Nicole McLaughlin’s design space with @bestdressed for an #upcycling workshop. Watch as our friends transform a #vintage Tommy jacket into a unique pair of shorts. We’ll be including a step-by-step guide so you can repeat this yourself! Upcycling Steps: Step 1 - Thrift/Source a vintage jacket Step 2 - Disassemble garment using Xacto knife (or seam ripper) Step 3 - Patchwork your shorts design and pin in place Step 4 - Chalk up and cut out pattern (you can use the pattern from an old pair of shorts or download a free pattern online). Repeat previous step for both legs Step 5 - Sew parts together Step 6 - Apply finishing touches (hammer grommets into waistband, stitch and feed bungee through) Tools/Equipment: - Your preferred vintage/thrifted item - Pins & Clips - Thread - Scissors - Measuring Tape - Seam Ripper - Tailor’s Chalk (or any chalk) - Lighter (optional) - Bungee(optional) - Hammer(optional) - Grommets(optional) Check out the #TommyXTimberland Collection: https://tommy.click/TommyxTimberland_...
