Coming soon to PS5 and PS4. 00:04 I'd like to introduce a game that we've 00:07 been working on for the past few years 00:08 called maquette it's a first-person 00:11 puzzle game set in a world that is 00:12 nested inside of itself recursively the 00:15 player will use these nested recursive 00:17 worlds to solve a completely unique set 00:19 of puzzles let me show you how this 00:21 works here you can see this big castle 00:25 an ornate dome over here and these 00:30 towers the orange cube is blocking our 00:33 way to the towers I can't pick it up or 00:35 move it because it's too big and heavy 00:38 but if we go inside this dome you'll see 00:41 we have a smaller version of the same 00:43 world you can see a smaller castle or in 00:47 a dome towers and a smaller version of 00:50 the cube an exact copy of the larger 00:53 world is nested inside of the small 00:55 world 00:56 because this cube is much smaller we can 00:58 pick it up and move it around and when 01:04 we do that we can see it gets moved in 01:05 the regular-sized world as well now that 01:09 we have moved a large cube out of the 01:11 way we can access that area of the game 01:14 anything that we do in the small world 01:17 is reflected in the regular world around 01:19 us there are a lot of exciting 01:22 implications to this it's running in 01:24 real time so if we drop the cube here 01:26 you can actually see the larger version 01:28 moving in the regular world and if you 01:30 look very closely in the background you 01:32 can see another even larger cube moving 01:34 in a larger world out there we have a 01:37 simulation on all these levels of 01:39 recursion that was a simple example but 01:42 we can do some really cool stuff in 01:44 unexpected ways using recursion here we 01:47 have a key that we can use to open this 01:49 door once we get inside we see we have a 01:54 gap to large to cross by jumping 01:57 maquette asks you to think about new 01:59 ways to use ordinary objects in this 02:02 case the solution is to take this key 02:04 which is tiny and bring it into the 02:07 maquette by placing it across the gap it 02:10 can be used as a full sized bridge in 02:12 the regular-sized world 02:14 [Music] 02:21 we can also take that same key make it 02:24 larger place it on the wall and now use 02:28 it as a ramp to get out of the 02:30 regular-sized world into even the larger 02:32 world the game will take you to these 02:34 worlds and beyond to a larger world 02:36 where tiny cracks and walls become 02:38 doorways to enter new areas these 02:42 puzzles lead the player through a love 02:43 story about two people growing together 02:45 you'll explore the scale of everyday 02:47 problems in a modern relationship where 02:50 sometimes the smallest of issues can 02:52 become insurmountable obstacles and 02:55 that's maquette a totally unique puzzle 02:58 experience we're really excited for you 03:00 to play this on PlayStation 5 as well as 03:03 PlayStation 4 03:07 [Music] 03:16 those things- advertisement spot 2020
