Oh, man. 0:40 Fans chanted "One more year", 0:42 which was this amazing moment. 0:44 I'm really lucky that up to this point 0:46 I've been able to make the decisions 0:48 on if I'm playing or not. 0:51 A lot of times for athletes, 0:54 the game decides for you. 0:56 It's either like some sort of injury, 0:58 or your body has deteriorated in a way 1:01 where you just can't play to the level you wanna play to. 1:03 I've seen that with a lot of athletes. 1:05 And so that's really tough. 1:07 There's an unfinished business to that 1:08 that I think you have to live with 1:09 for the rest of your life. 1:10 I'm really lucky that that's not the case, 1:13 but I'd argue that now that I'm at this point, 1:16 it's actually even more difficult 1:18 to actually make the decision 1:19 because nothing's deciding for me, 1:22 it has to be me to make that decision. 1:24 Obviously, I posted something on my social media today, 1:27 so I'm sure you have lots of questions about it. 1:30 It is crazy to think of the end of an era. 1:32 I haven't given it much thought, 1:35 all the lasts that happen in someone's final year, 1:38 especially the last time I'll be on the court 1:40 with somebody like Diana, 1:42 who I've shared the court with a billion times, 1:44 as a teammate, as a competitor, 1:46 we have so many memories, like, man, 1:49 we got to do a lot together. 1:51 We kind of created the path that is now known as the norm. 1:54 And it's something I value more than any championship. 1:56 We're not the pioneers of the WNBA. 1:59 That's the Lisa Leslies the Sheryl Swoopes. 2:01 But in a lot of ways, 2:03 we're part of the creation of that path. 2:06 You always need someone to chase. 2:07 And now I think there's gonna be kids that come along 2:09 who are trying to chase what we accomplished, 2:11 and they're gonna beat it, which is great. 2:13 That's what legacy is. - advertisement spot 2022
