Here’s how to get access with MINI Sharing. After your request got confirmed, you will get an overview of your booking. 30 minutes prior to the official start time you can already see the MINI’s location. When you click on “Access MINI”, your booking is about to start. You validate your booking via smartphone identification. Do that from anywhere, but remember: For this step you need internet connection. When you’re close enough to the MINI, the grey slider turns blue – and you can lock, unlock and start the shared MINI. From now on you do not need internet – the app works like a digital key. Your MINI experience begins! If you want to return the MINI, drive to the home area and exit the car. End your booking by locking the MINI and tapping on “End booking”. Everything in order? Follow and complete the checklist! Got something to say? Leave a message for the next driver, for example, if you dropped the MINI off somewhere else. After ending your booking successfully, you and the owner will get a detailed ride overview, including booked time, drive distance and fuel level. The MINI Sharing App is available since October 2020 in selected markets. Other markets will follow. You can download the MINI Sharing App from Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store. MINI Sharing is only supported by vehicles with the option Flexible CarSharing Preparation (option code 5GE).
