you'll need this 00:21 holiday season 00:22 make sure you follow along because this 00:25 one is super easy 00:26 and super delicious we're doing apple 00:29 and pumpkin spice cake today this cake 00:32 is moist 00:33 this cake is airy this cake is out of 00:36 this world 00:37 good we've got the rt 590 preheating at 00:41 375 degrees 00:43 fahrenheit we're burning the delicious 00:46 kingsford cherry pellet let's get 00:48 started 00:50 first we're going to take two eggs put 00:53 them in our mixer here 00:55 then we're going to add in our white and 00:58 brown sugar 01:02 and then we're gonna beat it just beat 01:05 it 01:07 we're gonna do it all speed six 01:10 seven we're gonna bump it up a notch 01:13 it's like a 01:13 we got a 350 uh hemi in this bad boy 01:17 you know we're just gonna beat them eggs 01:19 probably for about five minutes 01:22 beat it just beat 01:34 not yet all right our sugar 01:38 and eggs are super light and creamy 01:41 that's when you know they're ready guys 01:43 we're gonna add our vegetable oil and 01:46 we're also gonna add 01:48 our vanilla extract 01:52 okay 01:57 now we're gonna add our pumpkin puree 02:01 and we'll let this go for about a minute 02:03 as well 02:08 all right now that everything's 02:09 incorporated we're gonna work with our 02:11 dry 02:11 ingredients we've got our flour we're 02:14 gonna add our baking powder 02:16 our baking soda our cinnamon and some 02:19 delicious 02:20 raised warm apple pie rub it's got some 02:22 cinnamon some sugar 02:23 a lot of deliciousness in it to really 02:26 amp 02:27 this spice cake up greg how many of 02:30 these are gonna add 02:31 two table a tablespoon 02:34 absolutely we're going to add about a 02:36 tablespoon of this delicious 02:38 raised warm apple pie rub and i'll just 02:40 mix all of these ingredients up 02:43 with my handy dandy spatula 02:47 now we'll add our dry ingredients to our 02:50 wet 02:51 mixture slowly again you don't want to 02:54 over beat it once you start 02:56 adding the flour okay slowly 03:01 very slowly 03:04 because i don't know about you guys but 03:05 i don't want to be wearing this flower 03:08 dur you know celebrating the holidays 03:10 all day i don't want to have to 03:11 you know change my clothes get a new 03:13 shirt on you want to stay nice and clean 03:17 we can really smell those spices coming 03:19 out 03:20 once we get it in that rt-590 using the 03:23 cherry pellets 03:24 it's really going to turn out great 03:27 scrape the sides 03:32 and then add more dry make sure you 03:34 don't over beat guys 03:36 once you add in that flour the gluten 03:38 will make 03:39 your cake a lot more dense it's a 03:41 texture thing you want it to be light 03:43 and airy and delicious and moist 03:45 so don't over beat it you know just beat 03:47 it a little bit 03:49 just a little all right our awesome 03:53 mixture is all blended together 03:56 now we've got to add the main ingredient 04:00 some delicious fresh granny 04:04 smith apples no other apples will do 04:07 you have to use these delicious granny 04:09 smith apples it's going to bring a 04:10 delicious sweetness 04:11 it's going to blend and mix everything 04:14 together 04:16 shout out to anybody living in apple 04:17 orchard lucky dogs 04:21 and you're going to cut these up small 04:22 enough to where you know the skin pieces 04:25 you know really aren't going to affect 04:26 much but again i like that 04:28 that uh more rustic um you know 04:31 more texturey uh type of cake you know 04:34 for this application 04:36 yes yes yes it's all about 04:40 singing and dancing in the kitchen all 04:43 you need is three cups 04:45 three cups all right now we're gonna 04:48 fold 04:49 in these delicious granny smith apples 04:53 now some folks are saying jody why don't 04:56 you use the mixer 04:57 well you really don't want to beat these 04:58 up bruise them 05:00 before we cook them you just want to 05:03 gently 05:03 fold them in with our mixture now this 05:06 is a little dance that you're going to 05:07 be doing 05:08 with your mixture so get to know your 05:10 mixture 05:11 you know ask them some questions find 05:15 out where their family's from 05:16 if you want your cake to be sweet you 05:18 got to be sweet yet ladies and gentlemen 05:21 we've got two small bundt pans 05:24 we are not going to spray these with 05:26 non-stick spray 05:28 we do have a non-stick coating on here 05:30 for this 05:31 application this spice cake recipe you 05:33 want to go two-thirds up 05:34 in these little bun pans 05:39 see after you get your apple and pumpkin 05:41 spice cake mixture in there 05:43 you know bang it on the table a couple 05:45 of times get any additional air 05:47 out of there you want to pack it kind of 05:48 pack it down and then smooth it out 05:51 with your spatula here to the best of 05:53 your abilities and 05:54 what we're going to do is we're also 05:55 going to wipe any of the walls here 05:58 that way the mixture doesn't burn that's 05:59 not going to add any good flavor to it 06:02 and it just makes it taste a lot better 06:03 and look even more better 06:05 even mo better and makes it look even 06:07 better 06:09 so we've got our rt 590 preheated 06:12 to 375 degrees we're burning the 06:14 delicious 06:16 kingsford cherry pellets today we're 06:18 going to cook these bad boys for about 06:19 50 06:20 to 60 minutes until their gbd golden 06:22 brown and delicious 06:24 we'll see you at the rec tech 06:37 [Music] 06:49 [Music] 06:54 okay it's been about 55 minutes 06:57 we've pulled our delicious apple and 06:59 pumpkin spice cakes off the rt 07:02 590 we're burning that delicious 07:03 kingsford cherry pellet 07:05 now that cherry pellet is going to add 07:07 some good sweetness some good 07:09 smoky notes to this dish these things 07:12 are piping hot we're going to need to 07:14 let them cool down 07:15 there's a couple of different ways that 07:16 you can do it of course you can be super 07:18 traditional and get yourself 07:20 a cooling rack here flip it upside down 07:23 and let your bundt cakes cool or you can 07:26 mix it up and get booze involved 07:28 this is going to allow for a little bit 07:30 more airier cake okay 07:32 just simply place your bundt pan on top 07:36 of your wine bottle there and allow this 07:38to coo l 07:39 all right our
